The system can unlock the drivers door first but is a pain on that truck. If the panic works then all he has to do is program the chirps on if not he will have to hook up the horn. The doors locking twice if he will turn ign. controlled locks off then it will only lock when put in gear like it did from the factory.

The concerns you are speaking of relate to the interface module that is used for your system to control the factory door locks and security. There are many different ones available and some can be programmed for certain options and others can't. I am not famaliar with the 160VX but if it has a horn output, then it could be used to honk your horn during the lock cycle. The BCM in your truck can be programmed to provide lock/unlock feedback by you. You can have light, horn, none or both types. Some interface modules can be programmed for a two step unlock like your original remote. One type is the GMDL-BP by bypass.com. The messages you see in the dash display are simply the commands that the vehicle is receiving from the interface module as it goes through the process of locking and unlocking the doors or being disengaged by the remote starter. Different modules do different things. Nothing is wrong, it's just the way that module functions. The interior lights are all apart of the lock/arm and unlock/disarm functions. Have your installer check for optional programming options that may be more to your liking. I hope this is of some help.sparky
