Hi my friend and I tried to install an alarm we are new to this but we do stereos all the time, headunits, amp and other.

His truck is a Chevy s10 1999  ls xtreme edition

no power locks or windows, but it has a security light on the dash but i dont think he had a factory alarm, how do i find out, because he bought the truck third hand lol.

The truck had a clifford IE 7000  in it we removed it and it started, but i still wonder if it had a factory alarm, because the clifford we dont now which wire was the alarm disable. It started just fine after it was removed. So we were testing and tried to do a remote start but nothing, then we tried to start it with the key it turns over but nothing still????

But after almost finishing his truck does not want to start, is it the facotry alarm or vats, passlock or what we let it sit for about 3 minutes or more cant remember, you can insert the key try to start it but nothing, the engine turns over fine it has has but is shows no gas on the meter, we put a gallon to make sure, we tested for spark with a screwdriver in  the park plug hole from the distubuter  next to a metal piece not touching but close enough to see if it would arc, nothing, we are using the key to start so i dont now why a vats, or passlock would interfer with it.

So i removed all the wiring we did and removed the alarm, it will still not start what am i missing please help

We have most of the alarm setup but i cannot find some of the wire I will put a question mark in front of them

security bypass module if required.

Here is the alarm wire diagram

Wire Diagram for the alarm

6-Pin Starter Harness

System Wiring

Pin 1 RED WIRE A: Main Power Input A (+). Connect to the battery or constant power wire at the ignition

switch with a minimum 25 Amp supply. Remove the fuse until the installation is complete and all wiring

is checked.

Pin 2 RED WIRE B: Main Power Input B (+). Connect to the battery or constant power wire at the ignition

switch with a minimum 25 Amp supply. Note: if connecting at the ignition switch it is highly

recommended to use separate power wires for each Red wire, each with a minimum 30A supply.

Remove the fuse until the installation is completed and all wiring is checked.

????? Pin 3 BROWN WIRE: Second Ignition Output (+). The Brown wire provides +12V for a second ignition

wire. This wire may instead be programmed for use as a second accessory or second starter wire.

Pin 4 ORANGE WIRE: Accessory Output (+). Connect to the accessory wire coming from the ignition

switch that supplies power to the heater/air-conditioner. Some cars may have multiple accessory wires.

Pin 5 YELLOW WIRE: Ignition Output (+). Connect to the main ignition wire that provides +12V when the

ignition is on and while cranking the starter.

Pin 6 VIOLET WIRE: Starter Output (+). Connect to the the vehicle’s starter wire.

20-Pin Main Harness

?????? Pin 2 BLACK/ GRAY WIRE: Tach Input. Connect to the vehicle’s tach wire or a fuel injector wire if the

tachless mode does not provide satisfactory operation.

??????? Pin 8 BLUE/ORANGE WIRE: Ground When Running Output (-) 500 mA. Connect to an optional factory

security bypass module if required.

????? I dont think his truck has a hood pin for the alarm Pin 13 WHITE/ BLACK WIRE: Hood Pin Input (-). Connect the to the hood pin switch. The switch must

provide a ground output when switch is opened.

???? What do i do with this do i ground it ?? Pin 14 ORANGE WIRE: Armed Output (-) 500 mA. The Orange wire provides a ground output while armed

to activate a relay for starter defeat and anti-grind protection.

??????Pin 15 VIOLET/WHITE WIRE: Factory Disarm Output (-) 500 mA. The Violet/white wire provides a ground

output on disarming and before remote starting to disarm a factory security system. Connect to the

wire that requires a ground pulse to disarm the factory security system.

???? Okay i know where this goes but in the wire diagram for his truck it says horn is black wire in steering colum but there is more than one ???Pin 20 BROWN / WHITE WIRE: Horn Output (-) 500 mA. Connect to a relay to activate the vehicle’s horn

To reset the Passlock system you have to have the ignition turned on for about 20 minutes ( TIP: make sure that all your accessories & radio is turned off to preserve the battery in this time that the ignition is ON). Once it's reset, the SECURITY light will stop flashing and you should be able to turn the ignition OFF and then turn it back on and start the truck.
If you have a content theft system it can only be armed via OEM remote FOB. To turn it off you can tap into the light green wire at the BCM to the right of the accelerator pedal below the radio.
According to the post you have, you are missing quite a few of the important wires in order to make your remote starter work and also you don't list a bypass module for the Passlock II system. If you are to continue with this installation, you MUST use a bypass module for the remote start otherwise you will put the Passlock II system into long tamper mode ( where the SECURITY light flashes on the dash ). The only way to reset it is to follow the instructions that I posted in the first paragraph.
