I got a Honda Del Sol in which I want to fit an Avantguard 4 and IntelliStart 4. The Honda switches 4 wires with the ignition key: Start, Accessories, Ignition #1 and #2. The harness runs from the key to 2 connectors, one on the fuse box, one on the side. The modules require 6 wires to run from here.

I'm having difficulty thinking of a stealth way to install this. I could simply run the wires from the connectors, but that's very obvious. I could run them from the key switch, also not very stealthy. Then, I could operate on my fuse box and make some connections in there, but I've no idea what that looks like inside and whether this is feasible. How does one hide 6 fat wires running from a very simple loom?

On most hondas all the ignition wires that run ito the fuse box come out of the rear of the fuse box hence, remove  the instument cluster put both modules behind it and run all your wires to the rear of it.You can baiscally get all the wires on top or to the rear of the fuse box.Remember to loom all  wires carefully so they look factoryHonda Del Sol, Avantguard 4, IntelliStart 4 -- posted image.

Looking at the diagrams, the ignition and starter pretty much run through, but they do splice in the fuse box. So if I cut the wires after the fusebox, the IntelliStart will only power the ignition and starter, not the other devices connected to the same outputs from the key, like the ECU. That is, unless the Avantguard deactivates the immobilizers when you remote start. Will it?

Best thing to do is to test the wires at the rear of the fuse box,if you have to  interface what wires you can at the rear then run the wires carefully over the fuse box and connect them there. Most hondas i work on are jdm modles, and modles from singapore, right hand drive,so i dont know if my applications work for you just take time and you can pretty much make all the wires look factory.

My Honda mostly uses plain PVC tape, PVC sheets that glue together to form a large tube, and the ever present ribbed pipes as looms. Don't know what 'spounge tape' is, but I'm sure google will be nice to me.

Anybody got a clue whether the AG4 will disarm the immobilizers when starting remote? I guess it'll have to disarm the remote immobilizer, it could be anywhere, but the wired ones won't need to be disarmed if you follow Clifford's diagrams. If you feed the ignition wires from the remote starter before the immobilizers, you got a problem if the immobilizers don't disarm.

it sill its own immobilisers but if you have extra one you'll have to get around them
i call it sponge tape duno what the real name for it is. some cars use it opels renault etc its a tape with an outer layer of sponge. handy for running wires that might be prone to fraying over time

I think you made a typo. Just to be absolutely sure: it kills its own immobilizers when remote starting?

That opens up a lot of possibilities. I can wire the feeds of the remote starter to the ignition switch harness, not so stealthy, and put the immobilizers further down the line, just immobilizing the ignition and starter, very stealthy.

Just need to figure out what the cause of the check engine light is, people are getting on Honda's. I suspect it's todo with signaling the ECU that the engine is starting, before you're crancking the engine?
