Hi,

I am taking a longshot that you will help me with a real problem. I have eveything wired up and soldered and in place. When I go to remote start it, it cranks too long and I have to press the brake to make it stop. I have programmed it for tach tachless etc and it still does the same thing. It continues to try to start the vehicle too long.

Can you at least give me a direction to go on?

I appreciate it. I think everything is in place properly. The remote and everything seem to work. There were just two abnormalities I noticed....

1. When the key is on my dash lights only around my headlight knowb where I made the parking light connection stay on. (Not the parking lights themselves, just the dash illumination for that one area.

2. I noticed the anti grind wiring harness had two red wires, a large diameter and a small diameter. I soldered both togther at the key side of the yellow starter wire.

I am done with this other than this problem and once I get it working I will bother you no more.

A guaranteed fix for the starter cranking is to hook the tach wire up and reprogram for tach. If it is relying on voltage then the ground could be bad.
1. ?
2. What wires/pins are they on the relay? What brand?

I have the tach hooked to what I think is the proper wire on the computer. It did not make a difference. I wonder if it is continueing to crank becaus eit is not "firing" or catching for whatever reason? It does it in tach and tachless mode.

I think the relays are made by "micro" I believe the pins are 85 and 87a. The diagram someone sent me shows both these wires going to the key side of the starter wire but I may be reading this wrong.

what kind of unit and car?

And why don't you KNOW FOR A FACT that the wire is the tach?  Didn't you test it?

It is an Astra .

The wiring diagram showed the white wire coming from the cpu brain.

What kind of car? Is an Astra a car or a remote starter?
Does your car have an immobilizer? If it does, and it's not bypassed correctly it will never start. Post some information on specific year, make, and model of vehicle and brand and model of Remote Starter.

Your tach wire is white at the coil. You need to make sure all your igniton wires are powered up. I have seen some older GMs with an extra igniton, like a blue with white tracer.. Just look in the harness and test with a DMM.. Igniton wire should be powered when the key is on and when it is cranking...

I hooked it up according to the diagrams. Can you explain exactly what you mean?

One thing, the alarm brain yellow wire said 12 volt input +. I connected it to either theignition one or two wires. (I think pink with white stripe) I have an antigrind relay . I found a diagram in the manual that showed that yellow wire going to the antigrind relay. COuld this be my problem?
