I just installed a CT-5000. When I try to start the car with the remote the parking lights just keep flashing. I think it is the tach programming, I tried to program the tach. I followed the procedure in the manual, after I turn the car on, the parking light should turn off, telling me it has detected the tach and I should continue with the programming, instead the parking light stays on and it does not detect the tach. What could be the problem?

Lookin' to make it better.

To program the tach hold down the hood pin for 5 seconds. Release it and when the parking lights come on quickly press and release the hood pin again. Press and hold the brake pedal. Press both the lock and unlock buttons on one remote at the same time until you hear the remote starter module click 4 times. Then release the brake. Start the car and let it idle for a few seconds. Press the brake pedal once more and release it. Listen to hear the module click 5 times. Then shut off the engine. Close the hood and try the remote starter. Don't look at the lights as they may or may not remain on depending on the vehicle and existing lighting conditions. If this fails to work, post the year, make and model of your car. You may not have the correct tach wire. Also make absoulutely sure that your ground for the remote starter is into a clean and paint free section of the vehile body and not into another wire or dash bracket. These are not good sources for ground. The remote starter references the tach signal off your ground source.

How many flashes??  Your manual will tell you what the number of flashes means.
