82 Mercedes 300, Crimestopper

Hi, I'm having trouble with the installation of my Crimestopper CS-2011. Everything has been going fine, remote start is working, I can program the brain, and the arm and disarm buttons do what they are supposed to do. However, I'm having trouble with the locking/unlocking circuitry. I've installed a door lock actuator in the driver's door, and wired it through a pre-wired relay from Crimestopper. The prewired circuit is exactly the same as the one they list in the manual for 'aftermarket actuators'. The problem is that the Crimestopper doesn't trigger the relays on arm or disarm. If I manually trigger the relays, I can control the actuator, but the unit doesn't appear to be putting out a lock/unlock signal of any kind. I even hooked up an LED on test leads to see if I could see a pulse from any of the Crimestopper's lock/unlock wires, but I got nothing. When I push the lock button on the remote, it flashes the lights twice, chirps twice, and then arms the remote, flashing the little LED inside to indicate. When I push the unlock button, it flashes the lights once, chirps once, and disarms the alarm. This should trigger locking and unlocking, shouldn't it? Any idea why the crimestopper would choose not to output a lock/unlock signal? peace, sam

Just posting the solution to this, for future searchers: I spoke with a guy at Crimestopper (nice guy), and he told me that occasionally the red lock wire goes out (it has a current limiting resistor in it that can sometimes fail open), and that you can simply replace the red lock wire with a constant 12v source (with fuse), to energize the coils on the lock relays. I tried it, and it worked! So just count this as one old diesel that has keyless entry, remote start, and all basic alarm functions working well. :) peace, sam
