I just purchased a 05 Magnum, I am installing the Autopage RS-720LCD I have installed everything but the remote start and I am having difficulty figuring out where to hook up the wires from the six pin harness.  (Keep in mind this is my first remote start install).  I am a novice to the auto alarm industry but I do know a little bit more than just your basics but I have never delt with a remote start before, and I do understand that the 05 Magnums are difficult to work with, any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

You picked a difficult car for your first one. You will require a module to interface with the transponder in your key. I would suggest you get your hands on a CHDL7-PK2 module from a supplier. It will do a lot of the difficult circuits on its own and takes care of the transponder problem. It will also do the door locks and factory alarm if it has them. Check it out at www.bypasskits.com

Hey thanks guys for the inputs,  I'll give it a shot in the morning.  Thanks sparky for the info on the bypass module I'll be getting one of those,  and thanks Mike M2 for the ignition switch wiring (big help) I hope I can get it done without damaging my vehicle.

Can anybody tell me what wires do I connect to from the relays.  As I mentioned earlier this is my first remote start, I did look at the bypass modules but I am not a dealer so I can't purchase one.  So I am going to use relays and resistors, let me explain what I am doing.  I have two relays, one labeled accesory the other labeled starter 2, here's how I have them hooked up #85 from acc. relay to #86 starter relay to a negative ignition output, #87 from starter relay to ground with  a 180 ohms resistor, #85 from starter relay to starter crank wire from r/s to (I don't know).  #30 from starter relay to vehicle's starter/accesory wire.  #87 from acc. relay to ground with a 610 ohms resistor.  #86 to acc. wire from the r/s to (I don't know).  #87A to vehicles starter acc. wire that I cut in half.  #30 to other side of cut wire from the starter acc. wire.  I don't know where to hook up the two wires that I mentioned above or rather I don't know what colors from vehicle I'm supposed to use.  I am not even sure if what I have done so far is correct, if not please advise me on what to do.  Your response is greatly appreciated.  Thanks in advance. Once again I am installing a autopage 720LCD on my 2005 Dodge Magnum.

The diagram I have shows this:
relay #1
term 85.wire goes from 85 to term 86 on #2 relay which also goes to ground out while running from remote starter.
term 86 on relay #1 goes to accy wire from r/s w/diode,band facing relay.
term 87 goes to ground with 6oo ohm resistor.
term 87a goes to violet/brown key side(this wire gets cut)
term 30 goes to term 87a on relay#2.
relay #2:
term 87 goes to ground with a 180 ohm resistor.
term 85 goes to starter wire from remote start unit with diode, band facing relay.
term 30 goes to other side of cut violet/browm ignition wire.

has anyone noticed that when you use the CHDL7-PK2 after you remote start the vehicle and hit the brake and the remote starter shuts down the heater and radio turn off for a good 20 seconds or so before kicking back on? i just did one of these cars yesterday and this happened and i talked to another guy using the same interface and he said the same thing happened to him with the heat and radio shutting down and then kicking back on.

Hey guy's thanks for the info, one more question on the install manual it states not to install the WHITE/ red tach signal connection unless I program the start feature E-2 to "tachometer checking type" otherwise do not use. So do I need this wire hooked up or not, and if so what  wire do I hook it up to (color and location) Like I said,  I'm new to remote starts and I dont want to screw it all up on my first time, so all of your advice and guidance is very, very helpful , Thanks. Also I've installed motorized vertical doors on my Magnum is there anyway that I can get rid of the remote that came with the doors and be able to use my remote from my alarm instead of having two remotes, I would also like to have my hatch to work on the alarms remote ( it's motorized also ) i can get the hatch to open (motorized) but I have to close it manually, I want it to work like on the upper line SUV's were it open and closes with no assistance. I'm sure that it is a simple fix but I don't have a clue.

As I mentioned on the prior post, can I use my 2nd channel output for my vertical doors and my 3rd channel output for my hatch or could I use my existing doorlock and unlock relays to open ( unlock ) and close ( lock ) my doors same goes for the hatch. The way I installed the doors is whenever you push the door open button, the door popper kicks the door out first then it opens up 130 degrees, could It be possible to tie into the motors from the doors to my alarm or would I also need to install more relays.  Like I mentioned before I would like to get rid of the remotes that came with the doors. Has anybody done or tried this before?
