I have been out of the install business for about 8 years now. My last few trucks have had alarms installed and to be honest I never was impressed for what I paid to have them installed.

I am need of one feature maybe two - The abily to controll windows and maybe remote start (not necessary in Texas) I would like to be able to tap right into the OEM system and use the factory key pad or install a after market kit that plugs right into the OEM and has the abilty to run control modules.

Who makes the best kit - and what would the install intail?

You would be better off to use an aftermarket alarm or remote starter/alarm combo. Using the factory remote to trigger anything is very limited and the range is lousy (30 -50 feet). Aftermarket components have a great deal of flexibility and range. There are modules available to do the windows too. The sky is the limit, just use your imagination and get a unit that will accomodate all your needs.
