2000 grand am alarm/remote start

hi i have a 2000 grand am that i am putting a alarm starter combo in. I have a dei bypass for it. Now heres my problem I need to diode isolate the door tirggers?? how do i do that? it may be a stupid question, but i ve never had to do that on any vehicle ive worked on. Also my alarm has a central door locking system for keyless entry, will that be able to work with my door locks ? and how would i do so??? thanks

what type of alarm/starter is it?  The unit will work with the factory doorlocks in this vehicle it is a one wire locking system the will require you to use 2 relays, lock is straight ground through the 1st relay and unlock is ground through a 500ohms resister  through the 2nd relay.  As for isolating the doors the striped side on the diode is going to face away from the brain(i think i hate diodes)andrew nickle

Most people use the IN4000 series diodes. For more info and understanding on the proper use of diodes, see https://www.the12volt.com/diodes/diodes.asp (on this website). Personally, I always use IN5400 Series Diodes instead of the IN4000 because the IN5400 series are heavier duty. The IN5400 is an Epoxy Rectifier Diode rated at 3amps, 50PIV (Peak Input Voltage). You can pick them up at any Radio Shack for a couple bucks. The Radio Shack Stock # for the IN5400 is 276-1141. The Badger
