I have the alarm installed on my new car, but its missing remotes.  I bought new ones, but I have no idea how to program.  Help!  I have the 8426A remotes.

You need to open the main alarm unit up to access the coding switch. Press and hold the valet switch. Immediatley press and release the coding switch inside the security system (It is a push button switch on the circuit board on the opposite side of the board with the plugs) DO NOT let go of the valet switch. The LED will begin to flash rapidly. Press the TX button of the new remote. The siren will chirp twice to indicate the remote has been programmed. Press the Tx button on another remote if you have more than one to program to learn it. When done, release the valet switch to end the transmitter learning sequence.

The 8426a remotes are discontinued.  Are there any other compatible remotes?

This may be a very stupid question but I guess that is just where I am at.

I have the Alpine SEC-8027a security system in the car that I just bought.

The previous owner also gave me two 8426a remotes that he was never able to program. (He never could find the main box)

I have found the main box. I know where the coding button is inside the main box.

I am just missing on peice to the puzzle in getting these remotes programmed.

What is the valet switch?

I have scoured the security system. There is nothing that you can flip or press inside the main box except the coding button.

The only thing that l can find outside the box is the key that you can pull out to disable to start of the car.

It does have a button on it but pressing this button does not seem to do anything and it did not allow me to program the remotes.

I have been trying to figure this out for 2 solid weeks and I am pulling my hair out.

Can somebody please throw me a bone here and point me to the valet switch?
