I wonder if there is a stereo wiring diagram for a 2002 Honda Accord EX. The car has a 6cd changer. The car also has a volume control on the steering wheel. I am trying to isolate the wires coming FROM the volume control on the steering wheel TO the wire harness where the stereo is. I want the volume control on the steering wheel to control something else. Can these 2 wires be isolated? Any ideas?
thanks,
Jason

I have not tried this yet personally, so I cannot state facts. However, I do have a question and comment.
Question: How do you know that there are wires running OUT, from the buttons. Its possible for them to have IR built-in and only use a supply voltage from the car.
Comment: If you can verify there are output wires from the buttons (I would imagine this would require removal of the steering wheel components leading to any wiring at the switch), then obviously yes you could use these wires to control something else.

pretend as if you are trying to get the oem switch to work (with an aftermarket radio) and look up your car on PAC's website.  it will tell you the wires that need to be accessed for the new radio...which is also the ones you want to use for whatever project you are attempting.  usually it's 2 or 3 wires at the radio harness.
