Hi,

Can anyone tell me where I might pick up a tach wire for fitting a remote start to the Jeep GC 3.0L Diesel?

Thanks in advance.

Was just going to say that as well. Europe gets all the nifty diesel powered goodies.

A coworker just bought a new diesel powered Jeep Liberty... a very sweet vehicle if you're into SUV's and diesel power.

The sound of a diesel engine coming from under the hood of an SUV seems a little bizzare until you get used to it.  I drive a 2001 Dodge Ram 2500 Quad-Cab turbo-diesel pickup, and the sound of that Cummins diesel engine under the hood of such a large truck like that seems more "normal" to me. :)

With the high price of fuel over here diesel engines are popular even in very small cars. And although I have to say I'm not really a diesel fan they are getting a lot better.

Ya i love jeeps and i didnt even know the made thos
but to the tach wire you may need a tach signal generator part# DTS2. It picks up pulses genetated by the alternator and converts then into electrical pulses for a tach signal.

Thanks for that Mike but surely there must already be a signal being generated for the tachometer on the dash to pick up?
I know that on the Jeep Liberty Diesel you can use one of the terminals on the ECM but I haven't managed to find and info on the Grand Cherokee. Looks like I'll have to spend some time with a multimeter this weekend.
