I just had a 2-way remote start install in my car. Everything works in it. I have a question, i don't know if there is a solution. As my car is manual transmission, the guy who installed it set it in a way that it ONLY won't start if the hand break is down. If the hand break is pulled and the car is in gear and I remote start it. It will try starting it, that will push the car forward, as it is in gear. It will try for 3 times.
Is there a way I can tell him to set it that if the car is in gear it won't try to start? If not are there any other ways.
It already happened to me two times that I forgot to neutral the car and it moved, i got lucky both the times.
I will really appreciate your help in this concern.
Thanks in advance.

The installer is a moron and you should get a manual safe remote starter installed immediately. What the installer did was use a automatic remote starter in a manual transmission vehicle. From first hand experience that you had, you already know this is not safe. Go back to the place that you got it installed and ask that they install it properly or get them to take it out and give you your money back.
In either case, make sure that you have to get the vehicle in ready mode prior to remote start to ensure safe remote starts.

Moron is putting it lightly...... And Jeff, you know how I feel.

Yes, you got lucky....tell this guy to remove the system that is currently installed and get one like Jeff suggested. One that is manual trans designed..

Im curious....what was installed?

Tell them to put in a unit that is for manual transmission period! Other wise get your money back from them and have someone else do it right. If they don't do it right the first time, chances are that most likely they won't get it right the second time. So fine someone else. You can save $$$$ for safety. Remember the adage that "You don't get a second chance to make the first impression."
