I have purchased the DEI Valet 712t to add to my 1988 Jeep Comanche (basically a Cherokee).  I believe it has a reverse polarity lock system.  I am having a lot of trouble wiring this system.  I have a diagram below.Valet 712T in Jeep Comanche -- posted image.

Valet 712T Keyless Entry System

Features:
* Keyless Entry System
* 3 channel keyless entry system
* Clone-Safe® Code-Hopping®
* On-board Door Lock Relays
* Parking Light Flash
* Super Bright LED System Status Indicator
* Dome Light Supervision - On-board Relay
* 2 auxiliary Outputs
* Horn Honk Output
* Ground When Armed Output
* Includes Two 4-button Transmitters

Here's the info on the wires on it:

Valet 712T Primary Harness (H1)
1- Red (+)12v constant power input
5- GREEN/ blk Lock #30 Common output
6- wh/blk Lock #87 Normally closed
7- Violet/blk Lock #87 Normally open (input)
8- Blue/blk Unlock #30 Common (output)
9- Violet Unlock #87 Normally open (input)
11- Black (-)Chassis ground input
17- BROWN / Blk Unlock #87A Normally Closed
The red wire has a fuse built in it. The violet and violet/blk wires run through a fuse as well.
In the manual it says under the 5-GREEN/ Blk Lock #30 Common (Output): "The system has door lock relays on-board, and can directly interface with most electric power door lock systems drawing 30 amps or less. It can also drive aftermarket actuators directly. (Some vehicles require that an aftermarket actuator be added to the driver's door to allow system control, see Type D wiring section in Tech Tip Document 1041)."

I'm not really clear on how to wire this to my system.  All I seem to do is blow fuses.    Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks!

If Directech is accurate, you have positive pulsed locks. This will mean you need to apply 12volts to violet and violet black. The green will go to white in the drivers kick, and blue to the green in the drivers kick. You don't need brown and white...

Thanks for the reply.  I tried what you suggested and the fuse blew again.  I really think I might have reverse polarity locks though.  I read an article that explained how to check for this and my locks met that criteria.  If If I hook up the two #30's (common outputs) to the actuators and then cut the dark green factory wire (from my diagram), the keyless entry system will unlock.  But if I connect the green factory again, it blows the fuse.  In otherwords, I know that the two violets should connect to the 12V+ and that the two #30's (commons) should connect to the actuators.  But what I dont understand is how to connect the brown and the white and how the factory dark green and white should be connected.  Do I need to hook up a separate reverse polarity relay set outside of the Valet system?  I would think that the system should be able to handle popular type C vehicles.   Thanks for you reply.

 Find the lock/unlock wires in the kickpanel, cut both of them in half.  Once that's done test each end of the wires you cut.  When you push lock or unlock one side will jump to +12volts and the other side will stay at ground.  Wire up like this.

purple   -   goes to constant +12volts

white     -   goes to the switch side of the lock wire
green     -   goes to the other side of the lock wire
brown     -   goes to the switch side of the unlock wire
blue      -   goes to the other side of the unlock wire

Thanks for your reply also.  I will give it a try first thing in the morning.  I sure hope it works.  I guess I dont understand why the Valent 712T doesn't have a second 87a input.  I have seen several diagrams with the setup you suggested (and I will try it in the morning) but all of the diagrams show two 87a inputs.  We shall see in the morning.  Thanks again and I will let you know what happens tomorrow morning.

If it worked then ya you have yourself some reversing polarity locks.
