I have a 2000 Chevy Blazer ZR2 with a factory alarm.  I recently intalled a aftermarket remote start and wanted to know if anyone has ever modified the factory keyless receiver. I know its located above the parking brake on the hush panel however it has a internal antenna. I already have another range extended antenna but just was wondering short of having to replace the whole unit with a aftermarket one what i could do. I really want to keep the factory system just simply boost the remote range.

if you hold the remote up to your chin you can boost the range. Ss far as modifying the existing antenna, I believe that you will do more harm than good trying that.

so the RS unit you put in is just an add-on to factory keyless?   if so, not much you can do... that was the limitation of doing it that way was that you only got the same range as your existing keyless unit......  it would have made more sense to put in a stand alone unit with it's own antenna....
