Disabling Compustar AS2000

I bought a car (BMW 328i) that has the Compustar AS2000 installed.   The car ran fine as long as I was using the factory key and the factory alarm system.  Then out of curiosity, I thought that I'd try to learn how to use the Compustar, which the previous female owner explained that she never bothered with it because it was too complex, but it was her husband's little toy.

Since I've been trying to use the Compustar versus the factory alarm, I've had problems with my battery being drained, and now my car will not start.  I'm trying to find out if he has the killer switch function installed on the car.  Is there a way to find that out...other than the car not starting?  The car will start with a jump-start, but it will not hold the charge.

How can I simply disconnect or turn off this horrid contraption?  It just goes off for no reason at all it seems, which has a lot to do with my battery being drained.  Would it be as simple as the valet switch trick?  Or is the Compustar set up that way?  Can you provide me with some insight.  Thanks in advance.

LOL!  I always say that one backwards.  Sorry if it confused you, but thanks for understanding and for the help. 

I did manage to get the car into Valet mode, which I'm discovering is still not the problem.  My car is one of the BMW models with the battery in the trunk, and when they began doing that, they also added a Battery Safety Terminal.  I've been doing some reading on how to repair it, if it's the problem, but how do I find out whether or not it actually is?  The Terminal works with the multiple restraint system, which would also cause the type of non-start problem that I am having....no power to the engine.   

I'm suspicious of this, because I was backing up in the driveway one day, but hadn't set my side mirrors, and while backing and setting them, I hit the garage pretty hard.  Really hard.  Thank goodness I didn't break any lights or dent my bumper or anything, but after reading my service manual by Bentley, I began to wonder about all of this.

Once I remove the negative then the positive terminals, would I be able to tell by touching alongside the positive cable if there is actually a disconnect?  Or should I just go ahead and change it for the heck of it...one less thing to worry about?  I guess that you can tell that I'm a female, but I'm not afraid to get my hands dirty or break a nail if I have to.  (smile:)
