i had a customer bring me a prestige APS-786 to install on a 1993 buick lasebre, there was no problem with the install but for some reason i cant get the remote start to activate. i dont even hear the relay or anything engage from the alarm control unit. i dont know if its something wrong in the programming or what! it learned the tach with no problem.

give any suggestions on what may get it to engage

Check the toggle switch under the dash and the hood pin as those are the ones that will prevent the unit from attempting a start.

Yes it does. Without it the unit will basically be on valet mode.

Also, the unit may be sent from the factory having to press start two times within two seconds, that is the way the Code Alarm units are, which are very similar.
