I just installed a viper 791xv in my 2002 Jeep Wrangler. Everything works fine including the remote start. The problem is when you turn on the parking or headlights the alarm starts going off but at a very quiet level. It isnt triggering the alarm or shutting off the engine it just makes the alarm siren sound. I tried disconnecting the parking light wire but as soon as you do that it triggers the same thing.

Thanks for any help!

sounds like a ground problem. If the ground is compromised, the unit might be trying to pull ground down the parking light wire. When the light gets switched on, that ground goes away and the unit freaks out. I have seen similar instances of this when the ground for the siren and the ground for the unit are reading differntly. meter both to the battery negativle and make sure they give you the same resistance. if not, connect both grounds together and see if the problem goes away.
Northstart.....or start it your damn self.

Thanks, the siren wasnt getting a good ground. I ran a wire from it to the same place I grounded the alarm. Problem solved. Siren is louder too. Thanks for the help.
