Were finalizing a CM300o install and want to clarify some questions.
2003 Ford SuperDuty:
Connector #1:
Pin #7 green wire to ignition. Is this wire spliced into the ignition wire or is it designed to provide power to the ignition, but cutting the ignition wire?

Since I can't edit my original post here are some additional questions.
Again this is a F350, 7.3lt Diesel, factory remote lock/unlock. We are putting in a Compustar 2wss-AS
1. Glow Plug Wait to start.
I have read through multiple forum threads and found the following info which is somewhat conflicting regarding the wait to start glow plug wiring.
One thread pointed out a white wire on the harness plug that is located on the left side of the engine directly under the air intake to the turbo. This harness actually has two white wires.
(I attemped the test as described in an earlier thread, by "dea, can" titled "how to test for wait to start wire." This test did not provide the results as described. Is there another test that can be performed to determine what wire it is)
I also found reference to a Grn/Wht wire out of the same harness. Again, tried the prescribed test with no results.
There is also reference in another thread to a BLACK/ Pink wire behind the instrument panel. Is the only access to this wire, pulling the instrument panel or can it be reached from underneath somehow?
Or is there another way to tap into the glow wire. Using a pulse timer is not the direction we want to take with this truck do to the varying climates it is used in.

Some updated information for anyone else in the future.
On the Ford F250,F350 Diesels. 2000-mid 2003, 7.3 ltr.
The pick up for remote start signal is a 12v+ wire located of off the GPR, (Glow Plug Relay) This relay is located on the drivers side valve cover, directly under the air intake pipe to the Turbo.
The color is wht/ltgreen. The wiring loom spans the back of the hood and you can easily access this wire above the Brake fluid resevoir.
In addition. The signal is 12v+ and does not coorelate with the Wait To Start lite on the dash. The lite will stay on for about 15-25 seconds, where as the 12V+ signal can stay energizied for as long as 1-2 minutes. The timed duration is determined by outside temperature and the altimitier.
I'm still waiting for someone to responde to my other question about the ignition wire and green Conn1 wire.

The green wire is spliced into the ignition.
I have never tried to look for a wire under the hood that will provide a correct glow plug signal. The BLACK/ pink wire you refered to are on older Ford trucks.
You can program the unit to wait a certain amount of time before cranking.   I usually set them around 15 seconds. Being a dealer I have always had access to there handheld programmer so it is easy for me to do. I'm not sure how it is done without a programmer. You may be limited to a preset delay limit.

Next question.
For the door lock/unlock. This truck is equiped with the keyless entry/no factory alarm.
Wiring information is saying the following.
For Power Lock: Keyless entry use WHITE/ red, for lock and BLACK/ white for unlock.
I am assuming this is the wire harness that goes into to the GEM unit located on the fire wall behind the heater.
In the CM3000 manual is stating:
Connector #4
Pin: #4 Blue
Pin: #5 Blue/Blk
Would the proper connection be Pin#4 to WHITE/ Rd, and Pin#5 to BLACK/ white.
Question: Factory Keyless Entry allows for Priority Driver Door Unlock. CM3000 Manual shows Conn.#4 Pin #3 ORANGE / Black as a priority Unlock.
However there is no mention in my wiring diagram as to a priority wire for the drivers door unlock. Is there a specific wire this is tied into?
Thanks

Priority unlock requires you add 1 relay to 5-wire the drivers motor unlock wire. That wire should be listed on your tech sheet. The blue unlock wire would trigger the relay for the drivers motor, and then the ORANGE / black wire would get connected to the BLACK/ white unlock wire.
I get the doorlock wires in the drivers doorboot.

Thanks for the info. Although I still have an interesting question. If the GEM or VSM unit that controlls all the remote functions for the Ford, already pulses the door with a single click of the Remote and opens all doors with a second click. How is it doing this. Would there not be just one pulse wire to the drivers door to actuate the lock on a single click and then another triggering wire someplace else in the harness for the full unlock. ( I guess I'm a little anal when it comes to puzzling electrical questions) and if this were in fact true why could'nt we just pulse a signal from the CM3000 without a relay.

Finished most of the install and the unit is great. Do have a couple more questions.
1. I am installing a 508D field sensor and I am thinking the best place to install this is under the center seat, using velcro to mount it to the seat cross frame. Good Idea or Bad.
2. Where would be the otimal place to pull power for this unit. Fuse box, or CM3000. Should this unit be powered up 24/7, if I pull power from the fuse box, and what size fuse is recommended, its not listed in the specs, or should it only be powered up when the alarm is on.
3. We have a Excalibour Model AU-80 glass sensor that we would like to install on this truck however and I could be reading it wrong the CM3000 has only one additional trip input, and thats the one located at CN8 Pin #1 and #2. Pin 1 for warn away and pin 2 for instant trigger. ?, can you install two trigger devises on this alarm at the same pin pt, ie Pin#2.
