My alarm brian died (viper 800hf with valet remote start) and the installer wants $100 to remove the old wiring. I would like to do it myself. Is it a matter of removing the connections and matching up the correct wire colors and types?

It seems fairly simple to match up and reconnect.

Any advice? Car is a 2002 Kia Rio...

Thanks,

Scott

Like swamprat323 has already asked, what happened to the unit? Did the installer that you asked to remove the system originally install it? It should still be in warranty if the installer is an authorized dealer. Labor is normally covered by the installer(all the installers I know give a lifetime warranty on labor) and the parts covered by the manufacturer if the installer is an authorized dealer of the product installed.
