I hooked up my Compustar 2WSS-AS Alarm/RS today in my '03 Chevrolet Cavalier (Standard TR). Everything works great but there was one thing that was bugging me.
Follow me here: When you enable reservation mode the car stays running, you open the door, since the cars still running the deck stays on, then you close it and the car shuts off and enables the RS likes its supposed to. The problem is that the RAP keeps the deck powered up for 10-15 minutes. Anyone know an easy way to fix this little problem?
Thanks,

I might've solved my own problem here... Can I use the rearm output connected to the drivers door trigger? It should pulse a negative trigger on shutdown and turn off the RAP.
Thanks,

you will have to cut the door pin wire, insert a diode between your connection and the BCM and hook your rearm wire up to the BCM side of the diode otherwise your starter will exit ready mode when it getst he rearm pulse

I've already doubled dioded the door pin triggers, because of the BCM going to sleep and causing the door triggers inputs to change states.
I have one between the BCM <-> Door Pin, and another connected to the door pin side <-> alarm door input trigger.
If I hook up the rearm wire to the BCM side like you said this should work. Thanks for the tip, I'm going to give it a try today. BTW the 2wss-as is a beautiful unit although the option programming on the LCD remotes is rather awkward. I keep inadvertently going out of programing mode when pressing IV to get to the option I want to change.

This is the major "complaint" I hear from my customers when talking about compustar....the fact you can do SO MUCH with the remote, and some of it by accident! The retailers just need to give in depth, proper training. Im an old school Astro guy....and I love the simplicity of the compustar units.
