wire taps ok to use?

Is it ok to use wire taps on all connections for any alarm?

You can use whatever you want to tie in an alarm.  However from a longevity (sp?) stand point t-taps and scotchlocks are not a good way to go.

the absolute best way is to hardwire the connections and solder

i second hardwiring and soldering them, better and hides it so u dont see the taps

only lazy ppl use tap, and it cuts into the wires, so when u take it out in the future, the wire is connected by a thread. so take the extra time to wire them!

yea solder and tape is the best way to go but i did alarms for many years using T Taps and never saw anything bad come from it as long as you make sure everything is connected correctly. good call on not using scotch locks they suck and i hate them.

Solder and good tape, I use only super33 or super 88 it is flexible and it adheres better even when cold.
