Big Dog/Jeff:

I followed your guys suggestions for wiring/installing a hornet 700T alarm  system. Now, the car won't start!

Jeff, you mentioned that I need to install a Transponder bypass to my civic's security system.  Where do I get one and how do I install it?1st timer installer- again- needs suggestions -- posted image.

Hey Roxy,

Sorry I missed your query the other day when you said :

Muliplexed input - I just have a unit with a sensor built in...what is 508D?

Getting back about the wiring for the door lock inputs, the hornet manual as several diagrams showing different ways of  wiring a typical vehicles such as Domestic vs an Import. My question is how to wire a import vehicle such as honda with a keyless entry. There are four wires from the alarm module Red- disarm defeat input, Green-arm input,  White-(-) 200 passive lock input and Blue-disarm input. It is a little confusing!

A 508D is a proximity sensor or radar sensor as some call it...also made by DEI.

The RED disarm defeat wire is used to keep thieves from disarming your alarm by simply pressing the unlock switch on the door.  This is important because the 700T relies on the unlock pulse from the motor to disarm and it should only disarm using the OEM remote signal NOT the door switch signal.

The white passive lock output is used only if you program the alarm to automatically arm itself when you get out of the car.  Connecting this wire to the door lock signal will lock the doors when it passively arms.

The green lock wire looks for a negative pulse upon arming with the remote and goes to the motor wire.  I can't remember what year your Honda is but in most cases it is a WHITE/ Red in the drivers kick and there is no need for a relay.

The blue unlock wire looks for a negative pulse upon disarming with the remote and also goes to the motor wire.  Again I can't remember what year your Honda is but in most cases it is a Blue/Red in the drivers kick and there is no need for a relay.

The red disarm defeat also looks for a negative pulse and it is generally a Yellow/Red at the keyless module.......no relay needed.

Remind me what year your car is and also if this info isn't clear.

Just one more thing ( as Colombo would say ) seeing that this is only an alarm, there is no need for a transponder bypass.....it's probably your starter kill that has energized.  Bypass tempo to verify.

Prepare your future. It wasn't the lack of stones that killed the stone age.

Hey Roxy,

Seeing that it's a 2002 the correct colors are :

LOCK MOTOR is yellow/black at rear of the fusebox in the top left plug.

UNLOCK MOTOR is a YELLOW /GREEN  same place                                     DISARM DEFEAT is a yellow   same place

To put it simply, an immobilizer is comprised of an antenna receiver around the key barrel and the key has a chip in it that sends a code to the antenna.  If the code matches the one in memory then vroooom the car starts.

Go here for info to see how they work it's easier to understand when we see diagrams.  https://www.the12volt.com/downloads/file.asp?ID=226

But like I said before......you don't need a bypass unless you're doing a remote starter.  Are you doing a remote starter?
