help    no ignition start wire harnes swap 04 to 00

I relpaced my 2000 rangers body wires computer 3.0 motor and trans with a 04 ranger. Everthing is reading from my computer to my gauges lights horn radio work. The only thing left of my 2000 is the ignition and four small wires coming from the steering colum. The four wires come from a micro chip then are cut off. The 04 wire harnes has the four wires going tords steering colum but colors dont match. I cant get any power to ignition start. I think its a secrurity anti theft issue. How to get igntion

What colors are the four wires? Is there a GRAY/ORANGE and a WHITE/ GREEN ? If so these are your PATS wires for the PATS computer.

Hi Jeff,

Thanks for the reply, Yes the 2000 steering colum has those colors and the PATS. The 04 wire harnes has different colors. I don't think 04 ranger has PATS. While swapping i didnt see the PATS box device on the 04 ranger wire harnes.

If you look at this diagram for the PKF3 you will see that there's suppose to be a conncetor like the one on the top right hand side of the page ( type C ) for the 04 Ranger. YOu will see the wire configuration and all the Ranger's that I've ever worked on had PATS on them.
