Hi all,

I have a question about my 1991 Ford Taurus regarding the installation of a Valet 712T System.  I have found the power door lock wires and pretty much everything else that is required to install the system.
My question is this:  Where do you go with the Violet and Violet/Black wires from the Valet system?
Extra info: I'm not sure if this is normal or not, but the violet wires are spliced together at one point in the harness and there is a fuse connected at that splice.
Thanks in advance,
Dan Glass

This is correct. These are the connections that supply pins 87 on both relays internally. If you look at your diagram on page 4 it lists which wire does what and gives you the corresponding relay pin number. You can compare that information to the information found on this page. Just cross reference the pin numbers from the 712T to the information found at that link and you will be good to go. Keep in mind, follow the information listed at that link to determine which type of door lock interfacing you will need, your vehicle could be either negative trigger or reversal (depending on if the car had factory keyless or not).
Hope this helps.

I think that will help, but how will this help me dertimine what the pin numbers (or whetever) are?

I'm going to go check the wires to see what type in a few minutes, but from what I know so far it's 3 wire positive.  Does that make sense to you?

Anyway, the car does not have factory keyless entry (either remote or on the drivers door).

Thanks,

Dan
