I am doing a remote start upgrade to the factory keyless entry system in an 06 scion tc.  I am using an omega rs-4lx with an omega 555u transponder bypass.

I have the remote start working, but the car will only stay running for about 15 seconds.  The engine then dies, and the remote start will reactivate and keep the car running for another 15 seconds.  Does anyone have any clues on what could I have overlooked or miswired?

I also need the factory keyless entry to work when the car is remote started.  The keyless entry does not operate when the ignition is on therefore when the remote start is active the keyless entry is not functional.

This customer is leaving town tommorrow so I am running out of time.

Thanks for any input!!!

Joseph

Thanks for responding Kartuneman.

I used the pin to the farthest outside edge of the black 5 pin auxillary port.

I have just gotten the car to stay running so I've got one down and one to go.

Do you know of anyway to configure this where the factory keyless will operate when the remote start is active?

thanks again

Joseph

Are there any lock/unlock outputs on this unit your using? If there are use them and wire to the scions lock and unlock wires. Use relays if needed

Do some reading here....I have never installed such a unit. (one that has no lock outputs and works from factory transmitters)

I'm definately agreeing with you Kartuneman.   I've had that feeling for quite a few hours now, but wasn't ready to admit it until now.   Oh well,  just another few hours lost in "electronics wonderland".  Thanks for your help!

I have never seen a toyota product that the factory fob worked while the IGN is on.  We do not install RS units to factory fobs on toyotas for this very reason.
