My buddy needs buy and to program an extra ignition key-bought car at auction- had only one key- so to avoid the stealership- there has got to be a faster easier way- any advice or links?  Thanks ahead of time-

BTW most info I have seen so far says you need two active keys to program a third- but he only has one-- thanks

Chrysler, like many other american car with transponder require that you have atleast 2 key to program more.
But since you only have one, your ONLY option is to go to a dealer and have them program you another one.

There are mobile locksmiths that have the necessary programming equipment, and they drive around and service used-car dealerships who need keys.
Try calling them; might be cheaper than the dealer.
