Hello, I have an magicar 440, I know not the best, I installed it and the siren works intermitenly. I bought a new siren, but the same thing happens. I can get it to work for a few minutes, but it will stop. The rest of the sytem is working fine. I have it powered straight to the battery. When the siren does work, it seems to be low volume. Can anyone help? Thanks in advance

ground should usually be close to the siren and not a really long wire. Clean the grounding surface and make the connection of the ground near the siren.

The siren is two wires, one for power, the other connects to the main alarm. Should I shorten the ground to the main Alarm?

Which ground wire did you run direct to the battery? Siren? Alarm? Both?

Ground the ALARM to the Vehicle Chassis, close to the alarm's control module.

The alarms siren output is Positive 12V, correct? If so, ground the Siren CLOSE to the Siren itself. Clean & Tight, baby ... Clean & Tight.

If that still doesn't get it fixed, set the alarm off & measure the output voltage of the Siren Wire. Check with the manufacturer to see what the output voltage SHOULD be (+12V?).

My bet, though - like the others here - is a poor ground.

The siren does not have a ground wire, One is the 12v wire, the other connects to the alarm. I guess I'm confused on the ground thing. The second siren I bought is the same way. What am I doing wrong????

most aalrms has a postive output form alarm fro the siren you may have a negtive system.
take siren put both leads to the battery postive to postive etc does the siren sound loud, if so it is the alarm. there is a ground wire form alarm were is that connect to and how .
