light comes on after i remote start and drive for a while using remote start it's a hornet system but don't know the model it's been two years since it was installed using bypass kit gmdl-bp also light will not come on when i start with just the key

Most likely the 2nd ignition is not being powered anymore. Double check the wiring and the relay that provides power to it.

the resistance of the bypass is improper. i have repaired this problem many times before. usually i have had to remove the bypass and installed a good old resistor. do not use the resistance programed into the bypass, a completely different resistance is needed. i have seen gm's start off of 3k ohms when the actual resistance is 300 ohms.

Try resetting the GMDL-BP and then reprogramming it. There may be a problem in your vehicle's Passlock system. Your truck has the ability to compendate for it, but your module will keep sending out the same signal. Recheck all connections associated with the module to insure that they are good.
