first of all - hi from a noob!
I've spent the best part of 3 days now searching google and these forums for an answer to my question - which is:
how do I connect my folding mirrors to my alarm so as they fold/unfold on lock/unlock? The car is a stock my94 impreza wrx and the folding mirrors are factory fitted. The alarm is an avital maxx1. The switch that controls the mirrors is a rocker switch that has 3 positions -
1. rest   (middle)
2. unfold (top)
3. fold   (bottom)
every time the switch is pressed, it "locks" in place (doesn't spring back to centre) and the mirror moves in or out accordingly. On the back of the switch are 4 wires. 1 is acc 12v+, 1 is neg and the other 2 are the mirror control that switch live when the rocker switch is pressed and stay live until the ignition is turned off or the rocker is returned to the middle. Has anybody any ideas how I can wire these mirrors into my alarm?
apologies if this has been covered previously, I have tried searching but can only come up replies for JDM mirror switches that don't "lock" down in place.
thanks in advance

have you tried a timed output from alarm

adding 12v to ignition feed and window close wire at same time on switch or test if putting 12v down shut wire will do same

This should do the same as you turning ignition on and flicking switch

only use shortest timer till they shut

All information wiring etc. must be checked prior to connection if unsure please use a qualified electrician

thanks for the reply - need to find out how to rig up some sort of timer as total closure output from alarm stays neg until disarmed, also need to know how to make mirrors open again on disarm. Basically what I'm looking for is how to convert/extend the 1 second lock/unlock neg pulse into a 5-10 second pulse for the mirrors? I think!?! The alarm has the facility to change the lock/unlock pulse from 1 second to 3, and to be able to send a double lock/unlock pulse pulse - it's all in the programming. The only trouble is if I do program the 3 second double lock/unlock (giving me 2x3 second pulses) I'm in danger of burning out the drivers door lock actuator.
any ideas?

Have a word with Clifford dealers as most Cliffords have multiple outputs to control different items

you may have to use different button to open / close mirrors

clifford can supply variable timer relays for outputs which only give out a pulse. Use 1 on the armed output wire of the alarm to close the mirrors and use on on the unlock wire to open the mirrors.
