Has anyone completed a remotestart install in a chrysler pacifica? I have a Bulldog RS82-I, the 781 bypass module, and a third key in which I have programmed. I will be adding to the factory alarm/keyless entry. I am now a Marine Corps helicopter pilot (currently in Iraq and going home in the next 30 days), but I was MECP certified installer prior to starting my Marine Corps career. This to let you know that I have the install knowledge. It's been almost eight years since I've installed any mobile electronics and I wanted to get the most current information on my install prior to starting it. I am concerned about the starter 2 connection " NOTE *1 This vehicle requires a Special Circuit Connection to power up the Hearter/Blower Accessory circuit, and Starter/Cranking circuit, this will require an extra Relay Part #775 and 180 Ohm resistor ". I'm looking for a step-by-step of this procedure. Thanks.

I think a better piece of advice would be purchase something other than Bulldog as they have poor reliability but that is up to you.

Pacificas work fine without the second starter hooked up at all.

Just connect your constant, ignition, and starter at the ignition switch; don't worry about the second starter wire.

Thanks Chris. So I'm assuming that the A/C will funtion when remotely started without the second starter wired.

One last question. The vehicle wire diagram says max 10 amps. Can I get myconstant from the ignition harness or should I go to the battery?

No you have to go to the battery. Also I remember doing one last year and it was a little difficult. I'm pretty sure you have to go into the door for some wires.

I don't recall EVER going to the battery on ANY Chrysler product for basic remote start.

On a late-model Caravan, I metered the current draw of the remote start and immobilizer bypass at 1.06 amps total. I put a 3-amp fuse in there and it ran fine, without blowing the fuse or anything.

And yes, the AC will work fine with remote start, even with just the ignition and starter being triggered.

Also, the only reason to run wires into the door would be for the locks.......but you are going to be carrying around the factory Chrysler remote anyway, since it's part of the key......therefore, there's no reason to bother connecting the lock/unlock outputs from the remote starter.
