I am doing a keyless entry into a 2006 Pontiac G6 and the lock and unlock wire are the same wire. I am using a directed 451m for the relay and can't remember if the purple(87) wire is supposed to be grounded since it is a negative trigger and what to do with the WHITE/ black(87) and BROWN / black(87a) wires.

Lock Whte wire @ BCM (-) trigger UNLock White wire (-) trigger through 1.5k resistor. Pin 87 should ground / pin 30 to white Pin 87a Cut off Unlock is the same just add the resistor in line with it..
Good Luck
Im not framiliar with a 451m but it sounds like a standard relay pack...

So should i not use the 87 and 87a just forget about them and hook up 87 to ground and be fine after hooking up the resistor

Umm I donna know how the 451 is configured.. I would just toss it and use relays..   12v to 85 / (-) trigger from keyless unit to 86 / ground 30 / 87 to your lock/unlock wire.    Im asuming that DEI dingus is a stupid pre wired relay pack wityh a fuseholder for a resistor...   on the 87 wire? anyhow just look at it like 2 relays dont let DEI poisen your mind with their easy install stuff... heh just kidding... If ya need assistance just yell or post your wire colors (and corresponding relay pins) up..

The 451M is a handy piece.
Also, on the back, the wire colors are listed along with the relay pin numbers.......so you can still use a traditional diagram to connect it.
The purple and PURPLE / black, joined together through the fuse......those ARE the 87 wires...........so that wire goes to ground.
the two "87a" wires are not used.
the two other wires........the unlock output goes direct to the car........the lock output goes through the resistor and then to the car.
