I have hooked up a Prestige Informer Model 996A to my 1984 Cadillac Coupe DeVille.  I have connected all the power wires as per diagram charts and double checking with test light.  I programmed the tach rate and have recieved confirmation from the brain that the programming has been sucsessful.

When I hit the button to start though the starter keeps spinning, the car keeps cranking, and does not stop until  I interupt.

Any ideas or help would be greaatly appreciated.

Thanks!

You aren't getting a good tach signal. Try reprogramming the tach source or find another one to use.

Ok, Ive tried reprogramming the tach 2 more times without any luck.  I will try another wire for the tach.  Most of the guides say white is the tach but Im also gettting advice about a purple / white wire so i will try this tommorow.  Thanks for the info guys, ill let you know what happened.
