I just finished putting in APS 998 Alarm in to my 98 Eclipse.
Even though nothing is connected to channels 5,6,7 I can't figure out how to access them for the future.
Example
On channel 4 I have rear defroster and when I press the option button it accesses the channel 4 and on the screen of the remote "CH4 output activated" is displayed. This happens even if the car is off and the defroster cannot be active.
When I try to access any other channels 5,6 or 7 by pressing lock+unlock, lock + trunk or unlock + trunk nothing happens.

Did I ask a stupid question? Or did I make to many grammatical errors?
Can any one help me out?
There are no programming options for the channels 5, 6, 7 so alarm can not know if they are actually hooked up or not therefore it should try to activate them any way why doesn’t it work?

I believe you have to program the extra channels yourself.
Following the programming instructions for the remote......when you get to the point where you program Channel 5, just press a combination of two different buttons that you want to be Channel 5............ and so on.
There is already some combination of buttons to tell you the interior temperature.....make sure you don't use that same combo for your aux channels......or every time you try to see the temperature, the auxilary function will turn on as well.

There were no instructions included for programming the remote. There is a menu in the remote but there are no button programming options.
The preprogrammed options such as temp, defroster output and trunk output work.
Do the question still stands ...How to program channel 5, 6 ,7?

No programming instructions? Usually there is a separate "transmitter programming guide."
Anyway, here's how you do it....... it makes a LOT of loud chirping sounds, which is stupid......so make sure to do this where/when it won't bother people.
1. Ignition on.
2. Tap valet switch 3 times......you'll hear one chirp.
You're now ready to program Channel 1, which is Lock............if you press Lock on your remote, it'll make a long, loud chirp.......... or just skip it, since your Lock is already programmed anyway.
3. Press valet 1 time......you'll hear two chirps........this is Channel 2 which is unlock.............you should be getting the idea by now.
4. Each time you press the valet, it goes to the next channel.........    Channel 3 is start/trunk........   4 is Option...........   and just keep going.

Channel five can be used with the lock & unlock buttons pressed together. The remotes have to be programmed first to do it. Channels 6 & 7 are used for memory seats because you have to program them to s specific remote ie 2-way - 6 1-way -7. So technically 6 & 7 cannot be used for outputs a easy as 3, 4, or 5. If you need more indepth help let me know and I can give you step by step.
