I was wondering if anyone know where I can get just the transponder ring for a 556U. I bought the whole thing about 9 months ago. I went to use it recently and there was no ring inside, I no longer have the receipt to go back to where I bought it.
Thanks

Well, im almost 100% sure they dont sell the ring harness seperately. You might get lucky going to your local shop seeing if they have any laying around. 2000-2005 Audi's require a 556U but they dont require the use of the ring so you might get lucky.

you can also just solder a length of 20 ga wire to it and loop that around the front of the key cylinder

How much length? I read about someone taking 4 feet of unshielded 18 gua. and removing 2 of the strands and wrapping it around a toilet paper tube and then taping it up so it was insulated.
Thanks

I have done it in a pinch. Two strands will do and 4 feet should be enough. I just connected the strands to a relay to turn it on and it worked fine. Just wrap the strands directly around the key head and tape them in place....
