I installed a ASTRA 1000RS into a 1996 Ford F350. The system will unlock the doors but wont lock them. Also the remote start does not work. It turns on the guages, radio, ignition, and heater but the starter never cranks. I maunally set the relay and it stared right up. Then i used the remote to turn the truck off and that worked fine. Also does anyone know which wire on the 1000rs that I hook the wait to start light up to?

thanks

Kevin

Thanks
Kevin

When you say you manually set the relay, I assume you mean that you provided a negative to it and it energized. The small purple wire going to the external relay pack is the wire that will provide a negative to activate the starter output. Ensure that the pin on the brain of the Scytek piece is providing that negative output.
There is not wait to start input on the Astra 1000RS, there is a diesel mode. Once in diesel mode the unit will energize the ignition for 15 seconds prior to engaging the starter. This is programmable option number 13.
Hope this helps.

Yes I provided a ground for the relay. I checked the pin on the Scytek and it never gave out a negative output. But I also noticed once I push the remote start and the guages come on, the truck wont start, but when I use the remote to shut it off the doors will lock. But i still cant lock the doors with the remote, they will unlock just fine.
Thanks
Kevin

If you are absolutely sure that you have all required connections made, and have put the system in diesel mode and after the 15 seconds has passed you still do not get any output from the brain for starting, I would have to think the brain may be bad. I have done more than a couple of this brand that people have brought to me, and have never had a defective one but anything is possible.
Ensure that all 3 red power wires are getting constant +12V and that your ground is to a good, clean ground, not connected to a piece of metal under the dash.

Ended up having one of the yellow wires from the brain connected to the wrong wire. Diagram was very unclear on it. Got it working now. Thanks for the help
Thanks
