Just want to verify the wiring on this truck. The white 2nd ignition and orange hvac accessory wire are the 2 -12 gauge wires that go from the steering column to the back of the side panel fuse box and do not run to the same place as the ign, starter etc...???

The wait to start is listed as dark blue. There are 3! I tested them and still cannot tell which one is the right one. The glow light barely even blinks on this truck. It is not cold enough for it to stay on to test. Any ideas??? Set the delay for 5 seconds and forget it. I really want do do this right and use the input.

I also tripped the  CEL . I believe it is from disconnecting the plug on back of the instrument cluster to access the tach wire. Gonna check the codes at lunch to see what I set.

Thanks

I don't use the deisel mode on duramaxes... glow lug is way fast, but if you do just do a 5 sec delay... 2nd ign is white. MUST BE HOOKED UP! org should be hvac... disconnect the bat and the cel will reset.. start with the key.. then try to rs.. sometimes it pops a glow plug malfunction... [specially if its chipped, bully dog setups pop codes with rs when installing alot!]

so the second ignition is the white wire that runs with the orange wire and goes to the side fuse panel???

I want to be sure as I read this will screw up the tranny if not connected properly.

I will try the delay instead of the input as it does not get cold enough in south LA for the light to stay on longer than 2 seconds.

Thanks

no I did not try it yet as I just started wiring it yesterday afternoon tying in the power wires as I am waiting for my gmdl-bp module to be delivered tomorrow. I believe the cel light came from unplugging the gauges or from the fact that I cut, soldered and heat shrunk all of the wires instead of just tapping in as I did not want to use tape.

Thanks for the info. The second ignition is the only thing that had me worried doing this myself.

Don't forget to hook up the brown accessory. It is running in the same bundle as the second ignition and orange accessory.

As far as resetting the cel, Leave the ignition on, and pull the positive terminal. Leave it like this for 10 minutes, and it will reset.

Northstart.....or start it your damn self.

You shouldn't need to hook up the Brown wire as a second accessory wire in this truck. It is only required on some Hummers and the Trailblazer/Envoys. If you want to use the blue wait to start light it is in cavity A2 of the instrument cluster plug. The white wire in the same plug is the tach wire. The wait to start circuit is a negative one. If you need to use a relay to convert it to a postive pulse for your remote starter, you must hook the blue wire to terminal #85 of a relay and terminal #86 to ignition (NOT Battery). Terminal #30 to a fused battery source and # 87 to your remote starter's glow plug input.

You definately do need to hook up the brown accessory. I have seen it kick codes if not done. Its especially important on duramax deisels.
