hi  all

my van imobillizer has kicked in and will not start i dont have a red key just have two black with the wee red bit at the

top tried the two  of them but will not start. is there any way i can by pass this or anything i can do its a ford transit 2.5 diesel 1998 model? ive tried running the key around the key holder and things like that tried talking the batt termin off

still no joy is there a diagram or wireing or something i can find? thanks for all the help1998 ford transit 2.5 diesel immobilizers -- posted image.

First off are you 100% sure it's the immobilizer? I never heard of one just "kicking in" before. If the keys you have started the van before the code should be fine.

If the immobilizer (factory installed I am assuming) did go bad I would also be VERY interested if someone would actually know how to get around it...and if so would have the &*&lls to post it.

You might try the dealer if there is a way they can check it, but in the USA we don't have this particular vehicle so it might be something different then here. (it's called PATS here on the fords)

ive been told by about five people its the immob as for some reason the key has lost its

signal i dont know it just kicked in i went for some diesel then the van 1998 ford transit 2.5 diesel immobilizers -- posted image. would not start so if its not the immob

some body is telling porky pies ha. ive not had any probs before ?

Only thing I can suggest is to find out if there is a way to reprogram the keys. There should be a way but only a tech or service manual might have this info.

If the system itself took a dump I won't be able to help you there, sorry.
