Hi there I'm installing this system on my 1998 ford windstar, 3.8L

http://www.autopageusa.com/t_inside.cfm?action=products&catid=1003&prodID=c6960571-607a-490a-a914-90b3ee6bbf23

I managed to have the key less entry work but no luck with the remote starting?

after my searchin different places I found different wiring here and other forums ?

1- is there is 3 ignnition wire on my car or not? according to your wiring , YES & acorrding to others NO

2-is the tac connection is optional or must?

3- Im not sure if my van has the immobalize (transponder key)?I asked ford about my car with vin # they said it dosent have one.as a  mtter of fact  I had 2 copys done on my original key at wallmart  (normal keeys $2 and they woked fine)?

so im not sure waht is the problemfor this connection

any input will be highly apreciated.

Thanks in advance

it has no transponder key
two ignition wires and two accessory wires
tach is recommended- it is easy to get- go to any odd color injector. very easy to see and hook up.

Transponder is just the key- dont worry about that
the disarm wire is only if you have a factory alarm- roll down the window- lock with the facotry remote, wait about a minute- reach in and open door from inside release handle for the door if the panic goes off hook up the factory disarm wire if nothing happens don't hook it up
the tach- in the front of the engine there are fuel injectors. it looks like a small rectangle circlish plug. there should be a couple of these. look at them and you will see that there are two wires at each one. one will be the same with all of the injectors and one will be different. Hook the tach remote start wire to the odd color injector wire. This should read 1-6 volts ac on your multimeter. the more you rev the engine the higher the ac volts get. This will signal the remote starter that the windstar has started or if it has stalled out. It determines how long the starter needs to crank for the car to turn over.

IGNITION 1 RED / GREEN (+) IGNITION SWITCH HARNESS
IGNITION 2 BLACK/ PINK (+) IGNITION SWITCH HARNESS
IGNITION 3 N/A
ACCESSORY /HEATER BLOWER 1 GRAY / YELLOW (+)   IGNITION SWITCH HARNESS
ACCESSORY /HEATER BLOWER 2 BLACK/ GREEN (+)   IGNITION SWITCH HARNESS
you may need to hook a relay up for the second remote start accessory wires- you may have one or two- i dont know.

You have to have the 8 wire harness plugged in. Reason, the BLACK/ white must see ground for the remote start to do anything at all....
