2007 Camry Hybrid Remote Start

I am getting ready to put in a VALET 561R remote start unit into my dad's 2007 camry hyrbid.  It has a push button start system, and I just wanted to clear up some confusion I have before I put it in.  I purchased the bypasskit for the hybrid from fortinaudio bypasskits.  On the diagram provided Im not sure on ( http://bypasskits.fortinautoradio.com/en/download.php?productmanualid=272).  Does the yellow wire from the module go to power with the resistor as well as being tapped into that unlock wire?  It makes it seem like it should.  Also will the green wire from the module go directly to the - purple start wire on the valet 561r unit with no relays requried?  And as far as any other wires go, is the accessory wire needed or anything else?  I just want to make sure I know what im getting my self into.  Im hoping all i need is that one relay for the brake switch.   Will the parking light wires and the lock/unlock wires be in the same location for the hyrbrid as the standard 07 camrys?

I haven't yet done a Camry with either Hybrid or push-button start......... but we've got plenty of experience at my shop with the Toyota Smart Key system, as well as other Toyota Hybrids. 1. Yeah, it looks like you're right about how they want you to connect the yellow wire. I can't quite figure out why they made it that way......and why they didn't just build the resistor into the product. It's a very unusual design. 2. Does your 561R have a separate, small low-current negative-starter output? If so, yes, you're all set and won't need a relay. 3. I don't like they way they have you wiring up that relay that interrupts the brake wire. It's going to click on EVERY time the brake is applied, even while driving. I would connect 86 to a ground-when-running source from the remote start, instead of chassis ground.   That way, the relay will only be allowed to operate when the remote starter is on. At the very least, mount that relay in a location where it won't easily be heard. 4. No, you shouldn't need the accessory output from the remote starter for anything. 5. I know you said you're not doing trunk release. You know the factory trunk release isn't going to work when the remote start is running, right? 6. I've only done remote starts on the Toyota Smart Key by using a spare key made by the dealer; never tried the fortinautoradio piece. But I've written a couple of things about the 2006 Avalon at the carsound.com security forum. Even though you'll be using a different method, it might be helpful for you to read about the method I used over there.

Mike, that's what it looks like to me. Using the relay to interrupt the brake wire, would still allow the pedal side to kill the remote starter. On all the cars I've done with pushbutton start, I just use the door trigger to shut down the remote start when the door is opened.....and then the brake wire is not needed. The factory Toyota remote start also shuts down when the door is opened.

That's another thought, instead of using the door, have you tried using the reverse lights for shut down? That way it would continuously run yet still secure against theft.......Mike M2

So can you guys tell me how to install this the way it makes most sense..  Im not very good with relays so I am a little lost.  I may do the trunk release also, but i know how to wire a relay for that, i didnt even think about not being able to pop trunk with car running - it was like that on my dads acura tl when i installed the remote start and he complained about that.  And yes, the valet unit does have the - start output, so i should be able to directly connect to the modules green wire.  Thanks for the help guys.

The door thing would be tiresome IMO. Having the vehicle shut down and then having to restart it again doesn't seem to make sense to me.Jeff
