Valet 562T remote start & keyless problem

Everything has been hooked up according to diagram and there are no blown fuses.  I believe this to be the problem:  H3 WHITE/ blue wire (-) remote start acitvation input not hooked up.  I've read somewhere that this wire goes to factory/aftermarket security system.  I may be wrong though.  Here's exactly what it says on the manual:

H3 WHITE/ blue wire (-) remote start acitvation input:  This input comes from the factory set to 2 activation pulses.  This means that it is necessary to have 2 consecutive ground pulses on the WHITE/ blue wire for the remote start to activate or to deactivate.  The same holds true for the remote control activation when set to a two pulse setting it is necessary to press the * button twice for the remote start to activate or deactivate. 

On the diagram, it looks like there's a push button-like thing (which I don't have).   One wire on the button goes to the WHITE/ blue wire on the  and the other one is grounded.

Being installed on a 1994 Toyota Camry XLE.  I hear Japanese cars need to be hooked up differently than American cars.  The car had a security system that was disabled and removed prior to installation.  Keyless works fine, but remote start won't work/activate.  Car will start manually no problems, but does absolutely nothing when * button on remote is pushed.  Not sure what to do next.  Any suggestions would be much appreciated.  Thanks!

the blue/white wire is generally hooked up to a factory anti theft bypass module which you should not need for your vehicle. the switch you seem to be talking about sounds like the neutral safety switch which is a BLACK/ white wire on a smaller harness this goes through the switch and then grounded the purpose of the switch is that whenever the car is out of park or neutral and the car is not running it should be switched off so that the wire does not see a ground. so make sure that switch is in the right position and grounded.
Other than that make sure that the tach is programmed and your hood pin is working those will prevent the car from even entering the remote start sequence.

You dont need the WHITE/ blue wire for the unit to work unless you want it to work with the factory remote.

I have not hooked up the tach or hood pin, as I was told the tach applies to american cars specifically GM, Ford and Dodge.  The hood pin functions as a ground when hood is closed correct?  If that's the case, then it shouldn't be necessary in order for the remote start to activate, but I could be wrong.

Ferretvw, you install one of these on a japanse car?  Anyone?

The WHITE/ blue wire is just an activation input not used in your application.

The small BLACK/ white neutral safety switch wire has to see a ground for the remote start to activate.

Typical installation process is to ground this wire along with the module ground.

Once that is done you need to program the piece if you are not going to use the tach wire.Tach is easily found on cars of that vintage no matter where they were built.If you decide not to use the tach wire then you need to program the module for tachless mode.

The hood pin wire when seeing a ground will not let the remote start activate.That is there for safety reasons.If the hood is open,the pinswitch goes to ground.That way no one can remote start the car while it is being serviced or worked on.Highly recommended safety feature.

You have to do one of 2 things: hook up the tach and program it properly or go into the programming and set your setup to run tachless. I severly recommend using a hoodpin, but it is not necessary. I do only have one other question: what did you do with your BLACK/ white neutral safety switch wire? It needs to see a ground signal for the remote start to fire up.

dei products always work best with tach trust me and as mentioned above thin BLACK/ white is a neutral safety switch wire needs to read ground in for rs to work tach is black near back side of passenger strut tower use a dmm(digital multimeter) set to read ac volts then when verified hook it up to the thin PURPLE / white alarm wire and to program start with the key and hold pushbutton down until the led stays solid red then releas and lights should flash indicating tach has learnedValet 562T remote start & keyless problem -- posted image.
