Hello all ...... just installed remote starter in 01-Focus, everything worked fine with the key in the ignition so the remote could read the key, but when I install the spare key in the coil transponder and rap the antenna around the key barrel no start. Checked wiring to transponder and have +12 volts on red, Neg to output from remote and of course the coil around the key . I've been looking for a transponder that doesn't need the spare key so it can be programed and I won't need to spend 50 bucks for a spare (3rd)key, then that will be it. Any suggestions wouild be appreciated. A supplier that sells keyless transponders for ford would be great, anyone else have a problem like this ? ....
Thanks Ron .....

There are a lot of data solutions including 1100F from DEI.

The Xpresskits work best if the remote system has the data port for the connection, bypasskit.com has the vehicle selection wizzard so you get the right one. But they cost almost as much as the spare key.
