I just bought a '97 accord that has an alipne keyless entry. The remote is a 4 button SEC-8426 FCC ID: B23AT68

I ahve also located teh "brain" the FCC ID on it is B23AR55

Today my son was playing with the remote and now it doesn't work.
Can someone point me to some programming instructions for it?

I have tried a couple of methods one was to hold the vallet switch on,  cycle the ignition 3 times  and press teh remote button.   No luck with that one.    Another method said to open open up the "brain"  and press the reset button while holding the valet switch.  prblem witht aht is the board does not have a reset switch.  I can see where ti would be, but myine does not hav ea reset switch.

HELP!!!!

Also what do the 4 button do? All that worked before was the blue panic button would both lock and unlock the door. I dislike that because if you press it twice you walk away thinking its licked when its not. What to the other buttons do? They are: Mode, EXT2/EXT3, EXT!/Valet and TX/Panic

Its been a while since I have seen an alpine keyless, it must be pretty old.

I do not remember the programming procedure. You might want to check the most obvious things first like did the battery die or did playing with the remote put the system in valet. Otherwise if no one here has access to a manual you might try Alpine technical assistance and they may link you to one for free from archives or perhaps for a fee send you one.

As far as the buttons I believe...

Mode: 2 car operation, but not 100% sure

EXT2: OPTIONAL OUTPUT  ie: trunk release, etc

EXT3: another OPTIONAL OUTPUT ie: car finder, window roll ups, etc.

EXT/valet: valet feature through remote, possibly another optional output as well

TX/Panic : For panic mode

Oh,one more thing..you might be able to do a manual reset by unplugging the brains main power harness for a few minutes, then plug it back in, I use this technique quite often to eliminate "glitches" or freeze ups.

Good Luck
