2006 Dodge 3500 Diesel

I put an auto start on my 06 dodge 3500 diesel and my out side temp reads -40 when I remote start it from a distance.  If I turn the truck off and back on it will read normal, it has been also making my engine light come on and off.  I check the voltage on the purple and brown wire to make sure it matches when I start the truck with a key and when the auto start takes over.  Does anyone know what might be causeing this to happen? 

If you used the positive parking light wire instead of the negative one, this will happen. The parking lights won't come on during remote start either, but will when only using the door locks. Use a relay and resistor to open the parking light wire (WHITE/ Light Green at light switch harness) and send a ground pulse through a 1.1k ohm resistor to trigger the lights. I had the same thing happen to another truck.sparky

It is possible that the bypass module is the culprit. You need to disconnect the door lock circuts temporarily and try it. It that isn't it, it may be how you have interfaced with the keysense wire (Violet/Brown). You may have to wire in relays and resistors to duplicate the 2nd starter and 2nd accessory circuits that tie into this wire. Chryslers are wierd. If their body control modules don't see the exact correct resitance on wires at the correct time, the vehicle can do very strange things. I haven't used a Peripheral module for this application before. I use the ones from bypasskit.com and have learned that their built in resistance circuits for the keysense wire usually don't work. I use outboard relays/resistors. Also check that everything is grounded to a paint free area of the body and that you use the tan/red wire in the blue plug in the drivers kick panel for main power and not the battery wire in the ignition harness.sparky

Thats because your bypass isn't sending the right resistance to the BCM for that particular function when the truck is under RS... This could be due to the 2nd accy mux circuit or possibly from pulling power off the ign main wire.. as far as your bypass goes, I think the periphial unit is actually from bypasskits.com [trilogix] what is the name of it CHDL2PK or whatever?Tire Proz Stillwater Mn
