This bites! I had a shop in Marysville, WA called AUDIO LAB connect an alarm that I purchased off an Ebayer (asianwolf.com) for $125.oo. he claims that the FM Antennae is not compatible. So he tried to sell me a compustar (which is really a nice car alarm but was trying to charge $500.) The antannae seems fine since I can push a button to trigger the alarm. Something is making the alarm trigger instead of set when I try to arm the system. I did the programming. So I'm assuming that the guy didn't finish the job because I went back to double check his work....

If anyone is familiar with this particular alarm, I'd like some help. This alarm has the option for REMOTE START but I'm choosing not to use this feature. This has a 20 pin harness. Here is a pdf link of the manual that I'm referring to. On the pdf page 6 shows the diagram of the harness w/each pin # labeled. Without the REMOTE START feature do I need to connect pin #2 ( RPM input wire tachometer)?

Pin #1 is disconnected, as well as #15, #16 because I never had a factory alarm.

Pin #18 & #20 are not connected because I'm not using any extras.

Also, #11 (door pin +) is not connected because there doesn't seem to be any power locks.

If I just wanted the basic alarm w/out remote start which pins have to be connected?

Thanks a lot! I appreciate any person with positive feedback and there help.

I came across one unit that was shipped with the wrong antenna in the box, but the retailer who sold it to the person I put it in for made good on it right away.
Pin 1 is not required unless you hook up the starter portion
15, 16, 18, 20 are definitely not required
Pin 11 and 12 serve the same function, but are used for different vehicles, since you do not mention the vehicle it is in, more than likely your vehicle uses negative trigger for dome light which means the positive trigger input requires no connection.
I would get in touch w/Asian Wolf and inquire about having the antenna replaced, as far as the wiring goes, none of the wires listed would affect the operation of your system.

Thank you very much twelvotz! I'm sure I am just underestimating the installer. There was a reason why it wasn't hooked up, I'm sure.

What could affect the operation of this car alarm if everything seems to be wired correctly? The antenna seems to respond correctly. Its plugged into a hub/port that has a connection to the main unit. I'm not sure that would be it. It must be the programming. The problem is is when I'm trying to arm the system it  just goes straight to alarm. Some type of malfunction. Help!

More feedback would be helpful...if possible. Thanks in advance!
