OK my installer installed a remote start on this pontiac. He is illiterate and hooked up the positive trigger output from remtoe start to negative trigger light wire. Now after hooking up correctly the auto headlamps will not work, yes I covered the sensor completely. Any ideas????   To fire or not fire???

So...you throw 12 volts to a ground....what should happen? blow a fuse or cook a switch.

Do you have access to the www.directechs.com website, the site for DEI dealers?
In their Remote Start forum, there is a recent post about this exact same problem, except in a Corolla, which is the same car.
I think they ended up conneting the factory headlight switch to an aftermarket relay, and connected the relay to activate the car's parking lights...........but that still won't do anything to fix the autolamps.

Chris I don't have access to that, but that is great info. I got the drl's to work. Its kind of sad but I am not really sure what I did. I took out his install cleaned it up and re-installed it my way. The only thing that still wont work is the parking lamp circuit (auto pkg lights, dash lights excluding the gauge cluster) I deal directly with a pontiac dealer and I'll see if they can cover under warranty if not I will trigger the relay with the head lamps. And yeah I cooled off so I will inform him of the impacts that not testing can cause. Everybody messes up now and then I know I have. I think he got the GREEN / WHITE (main harness) confused with the green white in the harness that has programmable outputs. We are installing compustar units..

next time pull out the change holder and you will see the top of the fuse box. green wire right there is a + parking light wire.

Question, turn on parking lights and then shut them off with the switch and without key in or anything do they stay on outside with chime going off? If so you will have to replace that module.
