1995 cadillac seville, problems

Hi, im Chester, i have a 1995 cadillac seville sls 4.6L. Ive owned the car for about 5 months. I have some issues with my car, well a few. My RKE wont work, brand new batteries, and ive tried to program them, it doesnt work. My electronic mirrors wont work, yes they are pluged in. My lumbar refuses to work, yes it comes installed. It tells me my trunk is open on the read out display, and it says "traction Disabled" The only time is says "traction active" is when you very first turn the car on. Anyways moving on, My security alarm does not work, ive read the part in the manual on testing it. Finally my illuminated entry lights, do not work or the one in the trunk. Ok all of my relays and fuses are fine, wiring, A-Ok. The only thing i could even think of would be the computers... Any one have any ideas?1995 cadillac seville, problems -- posted image.

PS. Im 17 so im not loaded with money to take it to the Dealer ship, it only had 3 owners, im the 3rd and my grandpa is the second. He owned it for 2 weeks. There is no way to contact the original owner so im kinda in a pickel...

You have to start looking to make sure you have power and gorund going to those curcuits. Check for bad connections or corriosion at the fuse/relay center. Also make sure your fuseable links are good also.

Hey Chester, awesome car, especially if it is your first! I've always loved Cadillacs.
First, I would guess that the "Traction Disabled" message is probably a separate problem from the others.
Is the ABS warning light on? Do the anti-lock brakes work? (Find someplace icy or snowy, and see if you can lock up the wheels or not.)
The reason for asking that is that the traction control most likely depends on the wheel speed sensors for input.......and most likely the ABS pump for applying the brakes to limit wheelspin.
If the ABS doesn't work, neither will the traction control, I'd be willing to bet. And judging by two of the GM cars I own, their ABS systems seem to develop problems, and often don't get fixed.
Anyway, all of the other stuff you mentioned----domelight, trunk light, power mirrors, power lumbar, factory alarm..........they all share one thing in common---they all work on constant power (not switched with the key).
It wouldn't at all be surprising if there indeed is a bad fuse, and you missed it.
That car has at least two fuse boxes; did you check all the fuses in all the fuse boxes?
And how do you say they're good? Are you testing them with a test light or meter....or just looking at them?
You'd be there all day trying to pull each fuse out and look at it, and it's too easy to not notice when a fuse is bad.
Rather, get yourself a regular test light, conect the alligator clip to ground.........turn the car's ignition on so everything is energized........and probe the two terminals on the top of each fuse.
If you find that one terminal on the top of the fuse has power, but the other one doesn't the fuse is blown.

Two other things to think about:
--On your car, opening the door during the daytime doesn't cause the interior lights to come on........only when it's dark. But, for testing purposes, you can just cover the photocell on top of the dashboard, to fool the car into thinking it's dark out.
Also, the switch on the dash to activate the domelight.......that should work at all times, day or night.
--On any car, especially an older one, the cigarette lighter is a big source or blown fuses. Bad lighters, bad phone chargers, or pennies.
So, pay especially close attention to the cigarette lighter fuse. If your lighter doesn't work, be sure to take care of that, as the fuse is also shared by a lot of other things.

Chris wow man id like to thank you for your information, its really helpful. Ok this is not my first car, its my third. The best part is I alone paid for the car, with my own money 1995 cadillac seville, problems -- posted image. so its something to be proud of. No my abs does not work, ive tryed dry, wet and icy. But! when you first turn the car on and the computer has not finished checking every thing, abs and traction control do work. My abs light then comes on and they just lock up. Traction contol will keep my wheels from spinning even though it says disabled, except in water or ice, then it will hit 60mph and it stops spinning, full throtle on and you have very little power going 20mph. Im guessing thats for saftey. Ok the dimmer switch will not turn the lights on and i drive my car at night everyday, so i kinda need the lights. Yeah, sunday  I pulled every fuse and looked at them, 2 hours acctually lol, From both boxes from and back, all "looked" ok, but the fuses tester sounds like a good idea. Now what if they are all ok? I checked my relays, even swaped them and all my lighters work..... No idea man.

do not bother to just look at them, I have seen alot that might have a hairline crack you barely see. Also with a tester you will find out if  you got power in and out of that fuse.

ABS and traction control working for the first few moments sounds like a common thing.
On my '94 Caprice, the ABS light only comes on after driving the car 3mph or faster. The ABS pump on my car is bad.
Regardless, the ABS and traction controls sounds like an isolated problem, separate from the other stuff.
I'd again agree with au5999---definitely want to test for power at all the fuses, not just visually.
You can buy a simple test light for well under $10 at any auto-parts store.....or maybe as little as $2 at a dollar store, or Family Dollar or Big Lots or one of those kinds of places.
It's risky to use a regular test light during something as complex as a remote starter installation.........but you're 100% safe using a regular test light inside the fuse box.
If you have any plans to buy a multimeter for other electrical projects, you could just go ahead and get one now, and use that instead of the test light.
If you have zero extra dollars to spend, you could pop out one of the interior light bulbs temporaily, and tape a couple of scrap wires to it.....crude, but it works.
Or if you have access to a junk car, cut out one of the light sockets with some of the wire still on it.

Hey guys, thnx for your help, I found it, it was one damn fuse lol! And the volt meter tool acted funny when i used it on it, pulled it out and swaped it, low and behold, my trunk light is on! so i would just like to say thank you for your help! i might need help with my alarm next, for some reason it wont work, i tried the manuel test... but to no availe... Thnx a mill!
