05 Dodge Ram diesel with Prostart

I have a 2005 Dodge Ram Diesel. In the process of installing a CT-3400 TW remote start together with the Autostart CH-DT1000 Data interface module. A few questions...

1)  The data module instructions don't include the DIp switch settings for the 05 RAM. I left a voice mail with Autostart Tech Support but no reply yet. Does anyone know the DIP switch settings?

2)  The data module has both a dome light input and dome light output. Doesn't clarify how to connect these. Am i to cut the dome light wire and connect the two sides to the IN and OUT onthe data module?

3)  I'm using the negative output from the remote starter module for the parking lights. It works fine with a diode and the 300 ohm resistor, and yet they say you need to use a relay. What is the purpose of the relay in this case?

4)  The starter wire from the remote starter module is connected to the start wire in the ignition harness. Where do i connect the "starter input" wire from the data module?

The purpose of using a relay is a direct ground source, instead of drops through the brain (some units only use a 200mA ground parking light source, but most do use a 10A-15A fused source, don't burn up your brain by taking short-cuts).  The biggest wire that is pink / YELLOW is the one you don't need to hook up to ignition/acc on the rem. st. mod, unless you're doing a window module.  Make sure your 'wait to star't also waits with accessory ON!  If not you throw a check engine/ABS light.  Make sure to cut the yellow or yellow/orange wire while testing acc/ign wires. I'm sure you know acc. wires drop voltage during crank, and ignition wires stay constant.  Don't get these mixed up or you're going to the dealership before it is done.  As far as I know... the PURPLE / lt. blue wire in the DKP does factory alarm disarm/re-arm, and if you use this one for door locks your dome supervision is automatic factory.   You may need to use your meter to do unlock double-pulse resistance reading as DEI's directechs as I remember was wrong on one I did to do disarm/unlock.  Turn the key in the door to 'unlock' with your meter on the wire to get the right ohm reading.  Don't try the factory remote/unlock switch.  I think the one I did was around 1820 ohm, not the 1550 or whatever Directechs was calling for.  Lemme know if you need any other tech on this truck.  If you have a grey/keyless entry key you may want to pick up a DEI 556UW to do security bypass, these trucks are a little fickle as to what RF anti-theft bypass they want to recognize.

Thanks Joe. The ground signal from the box for the park lights is rated at 500mA. I've read that the draw on the OEm cicuit is much less but didn't measure it myself...for the couple minutes it takes I'll just add the relay.

I've tested the door locks and alarm arm/disarm with the resistors that autostart called for and everything works fine. So provided the prostart interface module has the same resistance values i should be OK...this module does the door locks and transponder bypass. Prostyart told me it works flawlessly on the 05 RAM.

All done and all's well. I would do it again myself if I had to. Figure i have about 8 hours into it the first time. Could easily do it in 5 or 6 max the next time.
