I just completed an install on a 2006 Chevy 1500 Silverado. The unit installed was a Compustar 2WFM-AS, with bypass module DEI 457GW.
With some time and some research, thanks to the12volt.com, everything went pretty smooth. However I am having one/two minor problems that I can't find answers for or solve myself.
First when I Arm the alarm with all my current connections(attached below, hopefully) the parking lights flash twice?? And when I disarm the parking lights flash twice. If I disconnect the Parking Light(-) from the Compustar, the parking lights flash once on arm and then they do NOT flash at all on disarm???
Second there is a 10 second+ delay on the alarm to trigger when the doors are open. I believe that someone on the forums said this is normal. Seems like an awful lot of time, by then if theft is involved they could have what they want.....any way to remedy this? Or am I stuck with it?

Hopefully image uploads, I compressed below 30kb. If not I'll have to type out my connections on a reply....Any help with these issues would be much appreciated. Thanks.

I'll try to host these connections....hopefully this works... All the connections shown are present and verified. If it isn't shown, then it's probably not connected. The compustar format is CNX-Y==connector X pin Y.

you have 2 units doing the same job... go into the DIC and program OFF the remote confirmation for horn and lights... that way only the R/S unit will activate and not the factory GM system as well........

I agree with Kevin. Turn off the feedback options for both lock and unlock for the factory keyless entry. Use the buttons on the steering wheel to change the options displayed in the cluster. If the alarm is using the output from a module for the door trigger circuits and it is taking too long, you can always run wires into the doors and tap into the door pin wires at the door modules. Remember to diode isolate them. Drivers door is gray/black and passengers is BLACK/ white.

Thanks for the quick response guys. I just got a chance to look at the vehicle again.....and Unfortunately it is not equipped with an Advanced DIC, according to the owners manual "some" vehicles are. All that can be displayed is miles and hours, nothing else like fuel economy etc.... therefore no menu options. No buttons on steering wheel or dash, just basic odometer.
SO that puts me back to square one on the "double flash." I was thinking though, if I disconnect the Compustar parking light wire...shouldn't the DEI 457 use the factory settings??? Like as if you are using the factory remote to arm/unarm?? Because with the factory remote the lights flash once one arm and twice on unarm.
However if I disconnect the parking light wire on the Compustar, I only get one flash on arm and NO flash on disarm????
I'm still scratching my head here, any suggestions will be welcome. And Sparky, I'll try to wire the door triggers to see if there is a faster response to the alarm when doors opened. Thanks.
