Ok installed a remote start in this, it works tested by leaving key in the ignition. Tried programming a 555cw to it, using the compustar wait to start timed out to 50 seconds. go through the 2 key cycled and wait for the programming chime after second key we get the chime and then proceed to attempt to program. We have tried to 555cw's and then a blank sentry key no luck. Am i missing something, I just did a grand cherokee last week programmed in the first attempt.

xj, this an 04 grand cherokee? proper programming is as folllows: 1st key on theft light out. 2nd key on theft light out and then wait till it comes back on blinking. then have 60 sec to program bypass. make sure all accessory wires powered up and theft light comes on blinking while programming bypass. I know there is a manufacturer issue with a few chryslers from 04 that will not allow self programming of third key/bypass. goto bypasskits.com and download install manual for a pkuch2x and the exact build date for the 04's is on there that were affected. hope this helps.

I spoke way to soon.....it is a 2004 and the it has issues called bypasskit's and the tech told me to burn the vehicle no wait a minute that was my idea haha.. Actually its a intresting thing it does not have some of the wire colors listed for the 04 but for the 05. For all that view this the jdl-pk will program but you can try the locks at your own risk the wire colors at the obdII plug don't match the pin out and I don't knwo of a way to test data wires. It will remote start fine but when ignition bypass is hooked up you can not start it with a key. I diode isolate trigger wire no luck. I will be adding a relay tommorow to shut off igntion bypass of of keysense wire, apparently this was done through purple data wire connection in which I don't have a purple wire or a wire in pin 2 for that matter.  time to go home...............

Hmm sounds like a fun day in the bay... Couldn't you have used the original bypass for the lock setup and the jdl pk for the senrty key? I may be mistaken but I have done the multiple bypass / door lock module combo's before with luck.. stupid chrysler products! Like ya said... burn it!

Yes and no, the jdl-pk will do the sentry key but not the locks. according to tech the jeep has a bad wcm from the factory and it is virtually impossible to learn anything to ignition. The customer was understanding so he is going to bring it in tommorow so I can refresh my brain and getting back to 100%. I will post results. I will probably grab a 455j and install it for the door locks once I get the remote start to function perfect. I have used the jdl-pk for awhile now they work awesome but as customak posted some models from 04 had this issue, just my luck to find one of the turds.

xtremej,
You got to have pin#2 at the data plug? it's got a yellow strip but can't recall the other color with it. For this beast you got to use the combo bypass, other wise it's quite the nightmare to work. I feel your pain cause I have my fair share of it. At this point it sounds like you got one of the vehicle that customak47 mention04 jeep grand cherokee sentry key -- posted image..
Be careful whose advice you buy, but be patient with those who supply it.04 jeep grand cherokee sentry key -- posted image.
